More new exhibitions in Berlin!

Two new interesting exhibitions in Berlin!

"Helden"
from the 29th of March to the 21st of October 2012
Deutsche Kinemathek-Museum für Film und Fernsehen,
Potsdamer Straße 2
10785 Berlin

this is an exhibition for children that explore the figure and role of the heroe in fil, comics, videogames, etc. From Pippi Longstockings to Spiderman, to anime...
Very interesting is the section about "how heroes are made": costumes, stunts, special effects, etc.
There are also film projections and cartoon workshops.
I am not a kid anymore but I might go there as well, I hope they let me in!

DIY - Die Mitmach Revolution
From the 30th of March to the 2nd of September 2012
Musem für Kommunikation Berlin
Leipziger Straße 16
10117 Berlin-Mitte

This exhibition is dedicated to the actual trend of "Do it yourself". It was very common and very cool in the 60's and 70's to do stuff on your own, then due to the economical craze from the 80's on, we lost the need of creating with our hands and also repairing things. We learnt only how to buy, consume and throw away, quicker and quicker.

Since a few years people are getting back to DIY kind activities and, somehow, way of life. Websites like "DaWanda", "Etsy", "Craftsters" are promoting and taking together people with this passion, a passion that in the last years has become also necessity.
The world, thanks to DIY can also be a bit more colorful and less expensive and commercial.
The focus is also on sustainability, recycling and upcycling
I am very curios to see this exhibition and on the website you will find many interesting links.
Beside the exhibition there are open workshop.

New exhibitions in Berlin!

So, it's spring! Not only flowers bloom, also new exhibitions pop up like daisy in Berlin!
Here is my personal "Exhibitions wishlist", it may give you some ideas!

Today I saw the poster of this exhibition: I really like Brazilian design, fashion, graphic, etc because is colorful and daring and something really different from "this side of the world".
This is a good opportunity to see a bit of Brazilian design in colorful Berlin

I love the 20's and thanks to the fashion blog of Priscilla Obermeier I discovered an exhibition dedicated to Dodo, a 20's Jewish-German illustrator and fashion designer born in Berlin in 1907.
She produced not only illustration for fashion, satirical magazines, graphic, she also painted.
She captured the flavor of the fashion and cosmopolitan life in the Berlin of those years.
Dodo traveled a lot, she lived also in Zurich and in London.
The exhibition is in the Kunstbibliotek. The Kunstbibliotek hosts regularly exhibitions of fashion and fashion illustration.

It doesn't need much of a presentation a photographic exhibition called "Die Metamorphose Japans nach dem Krieg. - Fotografie 1945-1964" or "The metamorphosis of Japan after the war, photos 1945-1964".
The metamorphosis is not only the destruction brought from the world conflict but also the dramatic change Japan went through after it, the building of super modern cities, the quick re-born of Japan.
Japan's Post-War Metamorphosis. - Photography from 1945 to 1964
from the 9th of March 2012 to the 17th of June 2012

I must admit I don't really understand the concept of the event "Animismus", in Hause der Kulturen der Welt, but maybe because of this, it could be very interesting to see it. There are exhibitions, film projections, workshop, etc.
And since there is ANIMATION involved, well, I think I have to see it...
